Robin and Doug Wrightson, your hosts at The Java Post, have a beautiful story to tell about how they came to be here.
Doug was born & raised in this area — a Marine from a Marine family. He moved to the Piedmont, near High Point, NC, where he met & married Robin. For years, they were happy raising their children and pursuing fairly conventional careers – Robin worked for the telephone company, while Doug built a substantial commercial construction company.
Then, in 2007, the couple decided to change their lives. They sought a simpler lifestyle – one that would be more meaningful to them personally and more fulfilling to them spiritually. They wanted a more relaxed pace that would allow them to spend more time with friends and family. Doug kept remembering where he was from, and Robin cultivated her personal dream of one day owning a coffee shop.
Robin uses the phrase “relocating to reinvent,” and it’s certainly appropriate. In 2008, the couple moved back to the coast, rediscovering their roots, revitalizing their lives and reconnecting with the community. When they bought The Java Post, they found that it was the perfect place to live out their dreams together – a welcoming, comfortable place where they could take time to visit with friends, and where a pot of fresh, delicious coffee was always close at hand.
